If I were you I'd check a dictionary before you post on this matter again :nana: Like I said before, my use of 'whilst' was grammatically correct. It's an archaic word but one that is still frequently (and correctly) used by speakers of modern English.

In conclusion, whilst I have been awarded this :trophy: you have been awarded this :reading: (it's a dictionary.)

yes, GRAMMATICALLY it was "correct" (pfft, you better watch ur sources) but (what's the listening form of 'aesthetically'??) to read, and to listen to, it was entirely stuuupiiid. it sounded bad, is my main argument, and i shall stick with it to the bitter end. sometimes the use of whilst makes u look smart. sometimes it makes you sound dumb. looks like youve crossed the line, ....

A little update on the captain grammar saga. (For those who are interested they can catch up on the whole two post incident at: [link] ) My use of whilst was 100% CORRECT! 'Whilst' is just an alternative way of saying 'while', a word which has various uses. All of these can be looked up in the Concise Oxford Dictionary. Incidentally, did anyone else spot the irony in these sentences: 'first of all, your use of "whilst" in your artists comment was wrong. and they look a little static. like they're posing, kind of, instead of fighting'? Look closer people - shouldn't that artists have an apostrophe? As in artist's comments? Just a thought. Oh, and in the words of Strong Bad; what ever happened to capitalisatiooooon?
